Smoked eel is a Dutch delicacy, which is not surprising since it has a lovely fresh and delicate taste.

Ingredients

300g smoked eel
2 tbsp sour cream
1 dash lemon juice
1 tsp horseradish
1 green apple, peeled, sliced in strips
1 red onion, sliced in strips
Butter lettuce, to serve
Sourdough bread, to serve

Preparation

Remove the eel meat from the bone and cut it into strips.

Mix the sour cream with the lemon juice and horseradish in a bowl to make the basic dressing.

Add the apple and onion to the dressing.

Carefully mix the dressing in with the smoked eel strips.
 
Serve on butter lettuce leaves and sourdough bread.
