Moon and Sixpence
Moon and Sixpence
300 Murray St
Perth WA 6000
Phone: (08) 94810727
This pub has been a Murray Street icon for over a decade, and the owners take great pride in teaming a huge variety of British beer (on tap of course), with a hearty selection of tasty, old-fashioned British pub grub. Think Yorkshire pudding, stuffed turkey, honeyed pork loin, and the piece de resistance - pork and venison sausages, served with roasted root vegetables, royal blue mash, topped with onion gravy. The interior of the Moon and Sixpence is charmingly kitsch, with dark exposed timber beams, red brick fireplaces, and British memorabilia lending a ye olde vibe.

Hot Tips
Bain-marie
A bain-marie is a bath of water that is used to gently cook ingredients and protect them from too much direct heat. To make a bain-marie simply fill your roasting dish just below the top with water. Place the other cooking vessel into the water and cook as per recipe.

Guajillo Chillies
Guajillo (dried and pronounced gwah-HEE-yoh) has a very tough leathery skin so may require long soaking.
