Situated across from the Botanical Gardens and the Conservatorium of Music, Aesop's traditional Greek food, dancing and plate breaking is easily accessible from the CBD for corporate functions, but don't let that put you off if you are after a non-corporate dinner for two. Aesop's menu is brimming with Greek staple dishes such as moussaka, souvlakia and stifatho, together with fresh fish, pan-fried calamari and chargrilled octopus. The side dishes appear especially appetizing - choices such as dolmathes, haloumi cheese, and seasoned deep-fried whitebait make decisions on the meal itself exceedingly difficult.

Hot Tips
Chopping garlic
Squash the unpeeled garlic using the flat side of a large knife to loosen the skin and help release the flavour and oils. Peel the garlic and then roughly chop. All of the pieces need to be about the same size to ensure consistency while cooking.
Glossary
Soy sauce
