Mykonos: the Greek island that never sleeps. The place where anything goes and every night is party night. If you haven't experienced it at first hand, or if you're yearning to return, you don't have to travel all the way to the Aegean to find it. Just make your way to Beaufort Street in Highgate. Decked out in the traditional white and blue, Mykonos serves authentic cuisine from the islands, mainland Greece and Cyprus. The mezze platter is a gastronomic treat, beginning with an entree of dips, crudites and hot pita bread and culminating in a platter of Greek nibbles, grilled prawns, calamari and occy on a rice pilaf, plus chicken, pork, lamb and a fresh garden salad with olives and feta. It doesn't end there though, you still have a homemade Greek filo pastry sweet to demolish with tea or coffee. If that doesn't beat you, maybe you should return for the truly awesome Olympic mezze and follow it with the velvety smooth honey-flavoured Greek yoghurt.

Hot Tips
Avoiding sticky pasta
To avoid sticky pasta cook in a large pot of rapidly boiling salted water (5 to 6 litres of water to every 500 grams of pasta). Giving the pasta a good stir in the first couple of minutes is also crucial to help avoid sticking.
