Charcoal chicken is the mainstay of this eatery which offers Portuguese and Spanish influenced delights. The chicken is freshly cooked and complemented with the Portuguese rite of passage - piri piri sauce - comprising of birds eye chillies which were first discovered in the former Portuguese colonies of Mozambique and Angola. The sauce is hot and piquant - those not wanting such a spicy introduction to Portuguese cuisine can content themselves with a lemon and herb dressing. The chicken comes with your choice of chips or roast potatoes. The desserts, such as flan - a Spanish/ Portuguese take on creme caramel - are a popular end to a rich, smoky, and, if you want, spicy, meal.

Festive occasions
Many of Poland’s religious holidays involve long observed fasts, including Easter and Christmas. Christmas Eve is a day of fasting, which is broken by a dinner called the Wigilia. Traditionally, this special meal is not eaten until a member of the family, usually a child, spots the first evening star in the winter sky.
Glossary
Coconut Oil
A fragrant cooking oil to be used sparingly due to its high saturated fat content.
