Fiesta on Oxford

Fiesta on Oxford
306 Oxford St
Bondi Junction NSW 2022
Phone: (02) 93893665

Like many of its Central American contemporaries, Fiesta is known for its upbeat atmosphere, making it a fun destination but perhaps not an ideal place for a calm, predictable dinner. Ample portions of Mexican fare are delivered to the tables by friendly staff, who expertly squeeze through the small spaces between the tables and booths. All the old Mexican favourites are present on the menu, with the fajitas receiving particularly glowing reviews.

The interior of Fiesta takes you away from the slightly grungy grayness of Bondi Junction, with a chaotic Mexican-inspired collection of bright colours, Latin artefacts, pinatas and upbeat sounds. The family-friendly nature of the eatery is underlined by the paper and crayons that are provided to keep the kids occupied - a handy device that keeps the mini gourmands happy in case of service delays.

Hot Tips

Cheats chicken stock

Using the left over chicken carcass from your roast will provide you with a good starting point for a simple chicken stock. Through in any spare stock vegetables: such as carrot, onion, celery or parsley stalks. Cover in water, bring to the boil and then reduce to a simmer for an hour.

Glossary

Rambutan

A relation of the lychee, this exotic fruit has a brown leathery skin with soft spines and a white, translucent flesh that resembles the lychee in taste and texture.
