Most winery restaurants take the safe route and offer middling Mediterranean or mod-Oz food, depending on what matches better with the estate wines. The same cannot be said here.
Instead of playing it safe Pierre's Platter offers an eclectic mix of contemporary Mauritian cuisine (think large share platters of freshly prepared meats, seafood and vegetables). It may only be open for one sitting per week but if you're in the market for a new experience then this is definitely one worth making the extra effort for.

Hot Tips
Steaming fish - hot tip
When steaming fish, slice through flesh for even cooking. This allows the heat to penetrate the thicker parts of the fish, preventing the thinner parts (especially near the tail) from overcooking. If marinating the fish before cooking, this also allows the flesh to absorb the flavours.
