Take a walk down the back streets of Sydney and the parks to see our homeless here, who also desperately need help. I watched the show, but how many more can we help? Our welfare system is already under immense strain.
What can we do?
Could we set up a type of 'pen-pal' system where Australians could write to people in detention centres as a way for them to keep in touch with the real world, and to let them know that people do care about their plight and their future.

I don't think most people are denying that there are problems here & that we shouldn't take care of "our own" too, but that's not what the show is about! For the most part Australia has it good & can do more for other countries..

First stop offshore processing. If you do not want the boats to come, the only way to solve this issue is send your legal representatives to the countries affected by war, natural disaster or any unforeseen happenings and identify the innocent civilians who are victims of these events and get them down to Australia and give them a better life.

I'm such a contradiction. Watched keeping up with the kardashians and now #GoBackSBS
whilst there is poverty in Australia and yes, we certainly should address social issues here, it still doesn't even touch the level of poverty other countries on this planet experience.
