Dr Christian Jessen puts three self-confessed hypochondriacs on the frontline of the NHS in hopes of curing their 'health anxiety', a medical term linked to the access of Dr Google & self-diagnosis.

An estimated two billion pounds of the annual National Health Service (NHS) spend goes on treating the worried well. Dr Christian Jessen (star of Embarrassing Bodies) puts three self-confessed hypochondriacs on the front line of the NHS in the hope of curing their health and anxiety, and transforming them into healthcare assets. The rise in 'health anxiety', as it's now medically known, is linked to ease of access to Dr Google, leading people to self-diagnose and demand treatment and scans for an array of ailments they don't actually have. Dr Jessen takes these patients out to meet others who are living with, and being treated for, the illnesses and diseases that they fear most in hopes of stopping self-diagnosis.

But the intense scrutiny isn’t exactly beneficial to Frederik’s endeavours, and soon more truths are revealed than he would have wished. Signe’s farming takes off, but the more she partners with Karin, the more she is confronted with their different ways of living.
