Our online message boards reached record numbers when Insight asked why more Australian women were having caesareans sections? Interestingly, the online conversation expanded beyond caesareans and into a broader discussion on birthing experiences and home births as an alternative.

Reinvention
In April, acclaimed author Alain de Botton joined us for a discussion of how individuals can reinvent themselves during times of recession.  We met 30 year old Danielle Trent, who had just traded a job in finance for a four-year apprentice as a mechanic and Stephen Morgan who became an aged carer after being made redundant at Mitsubishi and found himself painting the nails of elderly women and loving it.

Blocking the Net
Debate raged over the Government’s plans to mandatory filter the Internet with critics slamming the proposal as Chinese-style censorship. Stephen Conroy, Minister for Broadband, Communications and the Digital Economy joined Insight exclusively to discuss further details of the proposed plan.

Sixteen
Insight tracked down the teenagers we first met at thirteen to ask what had changed as they approached sweet sixteen. Underage drinking and teen sex were discussed, with guest Bronte Fox garnering both criticism and praise for recounting her experiences with alcohol. Dubbo boy Hayden Coggan inspired many after he shared his story of how his life changed when his mother passed away.
