Addiction
I was sexually abused at age 12 and for a long time as teenager and young adult I equated sex with love. I am gay and it was not uncommon for me to have 3-5 sex partners a day, trolling beats in parks and utilizing personal ads in the gay press. I was definitely a sex addict and this continued through 10 years of marriage until I met a permanent gay partner and then again for seven of the ten years we were together. Seeing a great psychiatrist has helped me over the addiction

Many kids, aged from 15 onwards are walking the streets at night, taking drugs, and into underage drinking.Teens, who drop out of school, can end up anable to use their brains to figure out problems or even do basic tasks. The kids that play wow, think, can operate computers beyond their years (education wise) and learn social skills. They make friends, and are home at night! Stop looking at the game as a negative, look at the positives. There are many. Talk to your kids, to them it matters.

Im an Addict
I am 34 tomorrow-and trying to work out how to live the rest of my life knowing/accepting/realising that I am an ADDICT and have been for 20 yrs. It is comforting but unfortunate I am not alone. As a rule I don't watch TV, must have meant to see this program as I too believe it is not choice but a combination of things including genetic factors.I am well educated with both parents at home and had a good, clean upbringing with 3 brothers(including a twin)whom haven't any problems. Why me ?

Interesting and imformative, my 3 sons play WOW , their clan ranked 10th , as a parent I was very proud of their achievement. We have discussed 'addiction', they play for the pure enjoyment and social interaction. As brothers their interaction with each other in the game has fostered a closer relationship IRL. Youngest is 15, he is clan leader, his brothers are 31 and 33, his organisational skills are well developed, and he displays a level of maturity beyond his years. Talk to your kids...

Games
I believe people are using the Internet as a source of "filling the gap" whether it is because of depression, anxiety, low confidence, stress etc. Perhaps Internet it is more addictive than other things like chocolate and TV because of that constant stimulation and interactivity. The fact that people are going to the Internet as an outlet maybe suggests that society is lacking in other means effective support to aid those under stress or depression.

Gaming Addiction
if there is two things video games are most noted for its video game violence and addiction. addiction is hard to understand because there is a line between playing for a long time and knowing when to stop. and having and uncontrollable urge to play. i believe it's unfair that games usually come off second best to other entertainment medians. apparently no one can be addicted to say a sport or paper plane making(just examples). i yet don't know where i stand on that addiction line.

gaming addiction
My daughter's boyfriend has just smashed his x box because of his addiction. He would stay in his room all day and only come out to eat. I don't know if they'll stay together now because she is over it. He does not drink or do drugs so that side of it is good.

Addiction
I am so happy to have found online games, I was spending a fortune on Poker machines, and find this so much more satisfying and a lot cheaper. I may be an addict, but don`t now consider myself as a loser. There a lot of sad people in the clubs, we know we lose, but can`t stay away. crazy games online are lots of fun. competing against friends and your savings stay intact.
