turning 40
It doesn't seem five minutes ago since I turned 40, but listening to you all I realise just how much converstion has changed in my own age group-50s. You talked about dating and children. In 5 years some of the women will find they are too ugly to get a job. From then women become invisible. After 50 no employer seems to want anything to do with you, men or women. Be warned, build economic security now before you are out of a job.

turning 40
turning 40 biologically should be more worrying, especially when a majority of people hitting this mark are in their late 20's early 30's chronologically.

Turning 40
Great Stuff Jenny, Always love your show if the topic holds my interest. On "Turning 40", I could hardly beleive it !!! All these panic-stricken people lammenting over such an "Ordeal ! Amazing how we respond to numbers - like AGE, and what you're SUPPOSED TO DO and how you're supposted to BEHAVE at any certain age. Rusted on societal norms !! I've hit several decade markers without a blink. Now 76, I play tennis 3 mornings a week and paint professionally. Kent Smith Plan'r L.Arch.

40
I just turned 38 and was feeling daunted by the experience of turning 40 but reading comments am thinking more positively about it. just got married to an amazing man and our future together is about pursuing travel, our own businesses and a shared future. We have decided not to have children but I feel we are in the minority where children are concerned. All my friends have had or are having children...most around 40. we love our freedom and being able to do what we want when we want.

Turning 40
I'm turning 40 next year but I felt that life is just starting. I'm a late starter, achieving actualisation only n my mid 20's, immigrate to this country after 30 & went through real life changing events here & only got my own property last year! I've not had a boyfriend or in a relationship before, needless to say never been kissed or kissed anyone, except babies! (not mine!)I like to think that 40 is just a number & not reflecting your real age per say. So I think I'm looking forward to it.

Society has BROUGHT THIS MALAISE ON.....ITSELF????
It is interesting to note that none of the audience brought up the fact that our present age group is a result of years of change that we demanded in our youth!!! This is a direct result of decades of deriding every "value" system that as an educated society, we chose to throw out of the window.....I am 46 but give me the conservative expectations of a bygone era any day.......why sit back and try to uselessly justify quite clearly, formulas that are NOT quite clearly working? God bless progress

Turning 40
White horse: I'm in my 60s and I've been hearing "ah, for the good old days" for as long as I can remember. I'm old enough to remember the 1950s. I wouldn't get too sentimental about bygone days. Things haven't changed as much as you may think - human nature certainly hasn't changed.

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS = ABUSE XXXXX
i am so glad to be living in an era where women have the right to abuse men all under the name of political coorectness??? Funny how cougars want younger men and it is no wonder men with maturity want younger women....in western societies women have won and changed all the laws to suit themselves....yes...this is abuse..equality does not exist...look at all the laws..re divorce etc...women win every time.funny...they will have to answer honestly to their children one day.am looking forwards 2 it

I thought this was the worst episode of Insight I have seen. Such a self indulgent banal subject matter. Turned it off after 5 minutes. Come on Insight! You can do better!

I'm 44 and thank goodness the 20's and 30's are over. Turning 40 was fantastic and it's been a great decade so far. I know myself, I have 25 yrs of adult experience to draw on, life is no longer a race and a competition and it's just GREAT. I can determine who I want to be, what I want to do and the world really is my oyster.

turning 40
I was thrilled to turn 40 last year. I am finally comfortable with who I am. I am grateful for youth and health and the gift of life each day. Life is what you make it no matter what age, and no matter what life throws at you (and whose fault it is). I am blessed with family and friends. My greatest life lesson has been forgiveness - of others - no ifs or buts! and forgiveness for myself. We are always growing and learning till we die.
