Nominations for the 85th Academy Awards were announced today by this year's Oscar host, Seth MacFarlane, and actress Emma Stone and the usual awards frontrunners like Steven Spielberg's Lincoln, Ang Lee's Life Of Pi and Tom Hooper's Les Miserables are atop the list.

Lincoln leads the way with 12 nominations. Of cheer for Europe is the fact that Michael Haneke's Amour received 5 nominations: film, director, original screenplay, actress (Emmanuelle Riva) and best foreign language film.

Norway's Kon-Tiki, Denmark's A Royal Affair, Chile's No and Canada's War Witch are competing against Love in best foreign language film category

The awards take place on February 24.
