"In a town known for fame, wealth and glamour, one honest man has come to Hollywood to make a killing."
In 1995 John Travolta was back, baby, thanks to his star turn in Quentin Tarantino's Pulp Fiction. No surprise then, he took his pal QT's advice and took another wordily comical part as a hitman, in Get Shorty, Barry Sonnenfeld's witty rendition of Elmore Leonard's novel. As Chili Palmer, Travolta is a Miami mafia heavy who follows a target to Hollywood and finds that producing movies isn't all that different from his day job, actually.
It's a hoot, and features brilliant supporting performances from Rene Russo, Danny DeVito and Gene Hackman (as career hack Harry Zimm).
