Hundreds of expat Australians living in London have raised more than $54,000 dollars for victims of the deadly Victorian bushfires.

A crowd of about one thousand turned up for a bushfires fundraiser on Sunday at The Walkabout, a famous Australian-themed pub in Shepherd's Bush in west London.

A sports memorabilia auction raised most of the money which will be donated to the Australian Red Cross.

Auction items included signed St Kilda and Hawthorn jerseys surfboards and an England rugby ball.

Others won European holidays and a tour of the Harry Potter film set in a raffle.
