Jackson's YouTube top 10
As fans around the world mourn the death of Michael Jackson, we try to capture some of the most famous video clips of the late King of Pop.
Michael Jackson boasted an array of chart topping hits during his career, some of which are still hugely popular on video sharing site YouTube.
Jackson 5 - I want you Back
"I Want You Back" was a number on single in 1969 recorded by the Jackson 5 for the Motown label. It was one of the original golden oldies, holding the number one position on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart for the week of January 31 1970. Here's their classic performance from the Ed Sullivan show.
Jackson 5 - ABC 123
Another classic - still sung today in nightclubs and even used in a Nintendo Wii game. Jackson arguably stole the show in this clip.
Jackson performing Thriller on Live TV
Thriller was the sixth studio album recorded by the artist and was the best selling album of all time. The record had a production budget of $750,000. The song cemented Jackson's status as one of the most famous artists of the 20th century.
Beat it
Beat It's film clip is one of the classics. While parts of the filmclip glorifies violence, Jackson's style can't be argued with!
Bad
Lucky 7 - Bad was Michael Jackson's seventh number one single overall. It was originally intended as a duet with longtime rival Prince but instead stars Hollywood actor Wesley Snipes (before he was famous)
Black or White
Arguably the best song taken from his 'Dangerous' album released in the early 90s. With a perfect mix of hard rock, dance and pop - the song promotes racial unity. No surprise it peaked at the number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 as well as topping the charts in 18 other countries.
Billie Jean
You wouldn't know it, but Thriller was produced by Quincy Jones and was MJ's sixth solo album. The song actually makes reference to a real life experience by Jackson when a mentally insane female fan claimed Jackson fathered one of her twins.
This famous Motown performance will be remembered by many Generation X'ers as the unveiling of his often-imitated rarely-perfected moonwalk.
Blame it on the Boogie
One of the most famous disco anthems of today. The song is still a huge hit today and reached 3rd place on the US R&B Charts.
Smooth Criminal
Surprise surprise, this song's about a woman. The song was released in the late 80s but unfortunately failed to be a chart topper. It peaked at 7th place on the Billboard Hot 100.
I can't stop loving you
While it wasn't one of his most popular songs, Jackson was noticably going through a number of physical changes - his voice on the otherhand was still booming strong.
