A 12-year-old girl who survived a Yemeni airliner crash by clinging to wreckage in the Indian Ocean flew back to Paris on Thursday aboard a ministerial plane.

Bahia Bakari, the only known survivor among the 153 people on board the Yemenia flight to the Comoro Islands, arrived at Paris' Le Bourget airport just after 8:00 am (0600 GMT) with Cooperation Minister Alain Joyandet.

The girl was ejected into the ocean when the Airbus A310 plunged into the sea after trying to land at Moroni airport in the early hours of Tuesday.

She suffered a fractured collarbone and burns to her knee, but no life-threatening injuries.
