Firebrand Liberal MP Wilson Tuckey has reportedly threatened a leadership spill in a party room meeting of the coalition, during discussions on the ETS.

Firebrand Liberal MP Wilson Tuckey has reportedly threatened a leadership spill in a party room meeting of the coalition, during discussions on the ETS.

Sky News reported Tuckey had attempted to turn the debate on a deal over the controversial emissions trading scheme into a vote on Malcolm Turnbull's leadership.

But it is thought no vote will go ahead, after the outspoken Tuckey opted not to move a motion calling for a spill.

The ETS debate is now said to be continuing.
