Australia swept past Wales 33-12 at the Millennium Stadium on Saturday to end their European tour on a high.

Tries inside the first 25 minutes from centre Digby Ioane and forwards James Horwill and David Pocock were ultimately too much for Wales, who clung on bravely but missed opportunities early in the second period to narrow the 23-12 halftime deficit.

Tatafu Polota Nau scored the Wallabies' fourth try in the 62nd minute to add to flyhalf Matt Giteau's three penalties and two conversions.

The match was Australia's final leg of a brutal European tour in which they have played on successive Saturdays since November 7. Their hopes of an unbeaten tour were dashed last week when they lost to Scotland for the first time since 1982.
