One of the UK's largest newspaper firms says it will begin charging for access to online content for six of its titles.

The Johnston Press says it will require users to now pay approximately $9 for a three month subscription to read the full articles.

It's the first regional publisher in the UK to implement a payment system for its news.

Recently media mogul Rupert Murdoch revealed he wants search engines like Google, which are also known as aggregators, to pay for the journalism generated by his newspapers.
