Many residents of bushfire-devastated Kinglake are still homeless, living in temporary accommodation and caravans as they rebuild their fire-hit houses.

Kathy Stewart was on holiday when the Black Saturday blazes raged through town, reducing her home to ruins.

A year after the fire, she is still living in a caravan, as she waits for her house to be rebuilt.

But she insists she is one of the lucky ones, and says the people of Kinglake must pull together to recover from the disaster.
