Italy's parliament has passed a law allowing the country's billionaire to claim he is too busy to attend court.

The law allows the billionaire PM to skip court engagements to attend 'legitimate' political engagement.

However, in the past, Berlusconi has claimed a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of a new highway as an excuse not to front court.

The PM has battled a number of sex scandals and corruption charges, including claims he paid his lawyer $600,000 to provide false testimony in past trails.
