A Perth restaurant has reopened after a car smashed through its front yesterday, injuring five diners, including a child.

The car crashed into the Matsuri Japanese restaurant on the corner of Hay and Milligan streets after hitting a bus, a St John's Ambulance spokesperson said.

It is believed four adults and one child, who were inside the restaurant at the time, suffered relatively minor injuries and were taken to hospital.

Four ambulance vehicles were deployed to the scene, where traffic diversions were put in place.
