Protesters shouting anti-fossil fuel slogans have gatecrashed Prime Minister Julia Gillard's address on climate change.

Protesters shouting slogans against Labor's climate change policies have gatecrashed Prime Minister Julia Gillard's address on the issue.

A 26-year-old man has been wrestled to the ground as he tried to disrupt Julia Gillard's speech on climate change policy in Brisbane today.

The man was later identified as Bradley Smith, who is a student at the university.

He was handcuffed and held in the PM's security vehicle as the PM talked.

Mr Smith was taking part in what Friends of the Earth called a spontaneous protest.

Several Brisbane residents from the climate change action group Six Degrees decided to attend Ms Gillard's speech in protest against what they called the government's utter climate cop-out.

They want the prime minister to announce action against coal miners in her speech.

The Prime Minister continued on with her speech during the affray, appearing undeterred.

Mr Smith said in a statement that Ms Gillard's's real climate policy involved 40 thousand coal seam gas wells in Queensland's Darling Downs 11 new coal-fired power stations and huge expansions of coal rail and ports.

A small group of climate change demonstrators had also gathered in the grounds of the university prior to Ms Gillard's arrival.

Also on campus, a small group of Young Liberals, who held up signs criticising ETS and the Labor Party.

Julia is delay. Abbott is denial. Julia says, 'delay is denial'. And that's the truth. Both parties are 'absolute crap' on climate.

People who believe in 'Climate Change' are very gullible. Scientists all around the world cannot agree on this subject. I actually wrote to Miss Wong and asked her to prove it to me but I never receive a reply so I took it that she can't. Scientist back in the 70's predicted an Ice Age for the 90's and as you know we are still here and enjoying the lovely weather that our country displays. It was called 'global warming' now Climate Change. Carbon is needed for the planet to survive.

ha! the Labor party have chosen to move to the right and they cant even do that properly! there is no middle ground on this issue, we either do something about it and make a better world (climate change or not), or we do nothing and fail the earth and its people. well done conservatives, we're heading the way of the dinosaurs
