Sherlock Holmes is set to appear in a new novel, eighty years since the death of author Arthur Conan Doyle.

Sherlock Holmes is set to appear in a new novel, the BBC reports.

It's eighty years since the death of author Arthur Conan Doyle.

Doyle left behind the legendary detective of Baker St, London, who solved crimes in his pipe and deerstalker hat.

But now, the super sleuth will be reborn.

The Guardian reports that the new book will appear in September, with screenwriter and children's author Anthony Horowitz chosen  to write it.

Horowitz was quoted in the paper as saying he was aiming for "a first-rate mystery for a modern audience while remaining absolutely true to the spirit of the original".
