Main developments since the arrest of Bosnian Serb wartime military leader Ratko Mladic.
  
Mladic, who was on the run for almost 16 years, is accused by the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) of 11 counts of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes during the 1992-95 Bosnia war.
  
- May 26: Mladic, 69, is arrested at his cousin's home in the village of Lazarevo, some 86 kilometers (54 miles) northeast of Belgrade.
  
- He appears before a special Serbian war crimes court in Belgrade, while several hundred supporters demonstrate in his favour.
  
- UN chief Ban Ki-moon says Mladic's arrest is "a historic day" for international justice.
  
- The European Union says the arrest has removed a "great obstacle" to Serbia joining the EU.
  
- May 27: Mladic's son says his father is "not guilty," adding that he was not in good enough health to be transferred to the ICTY in The Hague. However a Serbian judge rules that the transfer can go ahead.
  
- Some 2,000 former soldiers and young Serbians demonstrate in favour of Mladic in former Bosnian Serb stronghold Pale.
  
- May 28: Mladic appeals for "calm" ahead of a new protest by his Serbian supporters, according to his lawyer.
  
- May 29: Mladic says he "had nothing to do" with the 1995 Srebrenica massacre, according to his son Darko.
  
- Up to 10,000 people protest in Belgrade against Mladic's arrest. Minor skirmishes break out, with small groups of protesters throwing stones and flares at riot police.
  
- May 30: A lawyer for Mladic says he has filed an appeal against the decision to transfer him to the tribunal in The Hague.
  
- May 31: Mladic is allowed out of detention, under police guard, to visit the grave of his daughter at a Belgrade cemetery.
  
- The Serbian court rejects the appeal.
  
- Mladic is sent to The Hague and arrives the prison here.
  
- June 1: The UN court's prosecutor says the charge sheet against Mladic has been revised, from 15 to 11 charges: two charges of genocide, five charges comprising crimes against humanity and four charges of war crimes.
  
- June 3: Mladic makes his first appearance before the UN court. He tells the court: "I am a gravely ill man" and denounces "obnoxious" charges against him. He refuses to enter a plea.
  
- June 15: Mladic has completed an "initial induction process" and medical  tests at the prison, a tribunal official says.

 - July 4: Mladic refuses to enter a plea at a UN war crimes court, before the judge orders his removal by security.
