A new exhibition aims to show Australians the culture and history of the Gulf country of Oman.

A Consular exhibition in Sydney wants to show the Arab country has a lot more to it than sand and dust.

For many years, Oman enjoyed an unspoilt culture and a traditional lifestyle.

Now, the exhibition at Sydney Convention Centre’s Bayside Grand Hall is showing off its culture, heritage and lifestyle, both new and old.

Visitors can learn about the fashion designers behind a tribe's clothes, taste Omani coffee and sweets and listen to music from a folklore band.
