Modern Chinese art makes Aussie debut

Australian art lovers are already well acquainted with China's ancient art, but modern works are less. Shalailah Medhora reports from a rare exhibition in Canberra.

Paintings which have never been seen outside of China are on show at the National Museum of Australia in Canberra.

They tell the tale of modern China, including stories of political hardship and personal struggle.

Australian artlovers are already well-acquainted with ancient Chinese art - an exhibition of  Terracotta Warriors in Sydney earlier this year attracted over 300,000 visitors.

But China's modern art is less familiar.

Shalailah Medhora reports from Canberra.
