The Attorney General has announced that the Sri Lankan president won't be prosecuted on war crimes charges filed by an Australian citizen.

Australia's Attorney General has announced that the prosecution of the Sri Lankan president will not go ahead, after a Sri Lankan-born Australian filed war crimes charges against him.

Jegan Waran submitted the charges as President Mahinda Rajapakse was due to land in Australia for the Commonwealth summit in Perth.

President Rajapakse immediately denied the accusations.

Waran worked as a volunteer aid worker during Sri Lanka's civil war with Tamil Tiger rebels.

He was the first Australian citizen to submit charges of crimes against humanity towards the country's President over several atrocities he claims to have witnessed.

The accuser built the bunker for terrorist leader.

Nobody asked what that engineer who files the case was doing in Sri Lanka in the middle of a war. He is the person who build safe underground complex for LTTE terror leader. Now he accuses the head if the state. What moral right he has to do it when he support the inventors of suicide jacket and the group who killed more than 60, 000 civilians.

All these were instigated by Tamil diaspora who has been a vocal supporter of LTTE the most ruthless terror outfit ever to exist in the world. since there anhilation they try other methods to desatblized Sri lanka. I am not saying Rajapakse is a saint who has so many issues to address back in Sri lanka. however stance He took against the tigers were absolutley correct.

UN said so

A UN report found that the Sri Lankan government murdered its only people. I can't understand why we would let this man in the country.

This just shows how bad our judicial system has got to even entertain the thought that they are a world body. This guy might have an Australian passport but he is far from being Australian. Why doesn't he bring the charges in Sri Lanka or the UN. He is just playing our legal system as suckers. Which quite understandably they are.

Attorney-General's decision

Excellent decision by the Attorney General as it was a baseless accusation like all of the accusations made by the diaspora.
