Commonwealth leaders have been discussing the role mining and associated industries could play in helping development in Africa.

Leaders and other officials from Commonwealth countries have been involved in numerous meetings in Perth that focused on private sector investment in their countries.

One recurring theme - promoted by Australia and leaders from Africa - was the role mining and associated industries could play in helping development on that continent.
