Boy rescued, woman missing in Roma flood
A woman is still missing seven hours after her car was washed away in flood-hit Roma, but rescuers managed to save a boy from the vehicle.
There are grave fears for a woman whose car was swept away in flood waters in the inland Queensland town of Roma.
But rescuers managed to save a boy who was also in the car when it was driven into the water about 12.45pm (AEST).
The search for the woman was continuing in the flood hit town on Friday night.
"The vehicle was swept off the side of the roadway and people nearby tried to help the two occupants out of the car," police said.
"A boy was rescued from the car and a woman got out of the vehicle but rescuers could not keep hold of her. The woman was swept away in fast flowing flood waters."
The boy was taken to the Roma hospital as a precaution.
An air, water and land search has failed to find the woman or the car.
