A British judge has jailed two German men after they pleaded guilty to terror charges.

Christian Emde, 28, and Robert Baum, 24, were arrested on July 15 in the English port town of Dover.

The two pleaded guilty last week to possessing information useful for terrorist acts.

Emde pleaded guilty to four offences, including possessing copies of the al-Qaeda magazine Inspire, which contained articles with headlines such as Make A Bomb In The Kitchen Of Your Mom.

Judge Peter Rook at London's Central Criminal Court said on Monday the material made for "chilling reading" and jailed Emde for 16 months.

Baum, who admitted to one charge for having an article titled 39 Ways Of Participating Or Serving In Jihad, received a 12-month sentence.
