An editorial cartoon published in the University of Texas' campus newspaper is making waves, with some students labelling it racist.

The cartoon criticises the media coverage surrounding the death of Trayvon Martin, a 17-year-old unarmed boy who was shot by a neighbourhood watch volunteer in Sanford, Florida.

Some students are calling for the artist to be punished for the cartoon, which they say suggests the media has over-hyped the issue.
