A researcher is looking for Australian Twitter addicts to join a study on the way the platform is used socially.

Are you hooked on sharing the minutiae of your life with the world in 140 characters or less?

If so, Queensland researcher Helen Partridge wants to hear all about it - and not just via Twitter.

The QUT professor is seeking Aussie Twitter addicts for a study on how and why the platform is used, other than for work and study.

Prof Partridge began the study when she was working at Oxford University's Internet Institute as a visiting fellow last year.

She's now keen to include the experiences of Aussie addicts in the study.

Participants will be interviewed and have their tweets followed by researchers for a week.

"In so many ways, Twitter has been incorporated into people's lives," Prof Partridge says.

"We are looking at everyday use. We want to find out about people's experiences in the Twittersphere, how are they using it, when and why."

Anyone who wants to join the study can email k13.johnson@qut.edu.au
