Home loans rose 0.2% in April

The Australian Bureau of Statistics releases home loan approvals data for April.

The number of home loans approved in April rose 0.2 per cent to 46,632, official figures show.

That was from a upwardly revised 46,519 in March.

Economists' forecasts were for housing finance commitments to be flat in April.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) said on Friday that total housing finance by value rose 1.2 per cent in April, seasonally adjusted, to $20.450 billion.
