Jail for UK forced marriage parents

The British government has introduced legislation to outlaw forced marriage, amid concerns that making the practice a crime could make detecting it harder.

Forced marriage is “little more than slavery”, Prime Minister David Cameron has said as the UK Government announced plans to make it a criminal offence.

Under the plan, forced marriages will become a criminal offence in England, Wales and the North. The scale of sentences available will be set out in the legislation.

Australia introduced similar laws last week.

But while most have welcomed the British move, there are concerns that making the practice a crime could actually make detecting forced marriages harder.

it is not a valid argument

It is a stupid argument because you could say that making a crime out of stealing made that harder to detect as well.
