Border Protection Command says it intercepted a boat full of asylum seekers on Saturday night - the second within 24 hours.

A second boatload of asylum seekers was intercepted on Saturday, Border Protection Command says.

A vessel carrying 49 people was intercepted north-west of the Cocos Keeling Islands on Saturday night.

It was intercepted by ACV Hervey Bay after being detected by a RAAF maritime patrol craft.

The passengers were transferred to Australian government authorities on Cocos Island and will be sent to Christmas Island for health, security and identity checks.

Earlier the same day, a government patrol boat intercepted a vessel carrying 15 passengers and two crew east of Browse Island off the Kimberley coastline.

They were transferred to Broome initially and are being sent to Darwin detention centre for security, health and identity checks.

No wonder Australian's have a very negitive out look towards theses "Illegal boat people". they just don't stop coming to our shores..As they arrive more and more of our hard earned taxes are going to these people and blows our budget out even further and needy AUSTRALIANS are missing out on the urgent needs thay have, shelter food education etc. It's time to shredd the agreement Australia's tired to and give our country back to Australian's. Stuff the rest, home matters first.

No more asylum seekers

One sure way of fixing the problem of asylum seekers is to inform Indonesia that money needed to be used for illegal immigrants will be subtracted from ther funding Australia gives to Indonesia. It is not fair that the Australian taxpayer has to foot the bill for people coming over to our country on boats and having everything given to them at our expense. If the greenies and human rights people feel so strong about this, then let them give over their finances. We are struggling enough.
