The new Islamic TV channel 'Maria TV' hopes to show people 'that there are successful women wearing niqab'.

In Egypt, there’s a new TV channel called 'Maria TV'. It’s the new Islamic TV channel run primarily by niqab-clad women.

These women operate the cameras, present shows and interview female guests ranging from doctors to students of Islamic theology.

El-Sheikha Safaa Refai, who heads Maria TV said that she hoped that by appearing on TV in full Islamic dress, she could show people ‘that there are successful women wearing niqab’.
