Melbourne rower Joshua Booth fainted and hit his head after being detained by police for damaging a shop front.

Melbourne rower Joshua Booth fainted and hit his head after being detained by police for damaging a shop front.

He was arrested overnight by London police for damaging a shop front, he was taken back to the police station, where he fainted and hit his head.

Booth was then taken to hospital as a precaution. It has been confirmed that alcohol was involved in the incident.

Booth is now back at the Olympic village but will have to return to the police station tomorrow to see if charges will be laid.
