Three Sydney shootings not linked: police

Police say a spate of shootings across Sydney in the past two days are not linked.

Three shootings in two days that left two Sydney men wounded are not linked, police say.

A 26-year-old man was taken to Bankstown Hospital, in Sydney's southwest, about 10.20pm (AEST) on Tuesday with a gunshot wound to his hand.

He told police he was walking in nearby Sefton when car drove past and he was shot at.

About an hour earlier, police had been called to Restwell Street, Bankstown, following reports of gunshots.

They located a number of casings and a short time later a 23-year-old man turned up at a hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.

There have been two other shooting incidents in Sydney in recent days.

Shots were fired into a home at Roselands, in Sydney's southwest, shortly before 7.30pm (AEST) on Monday.

Five people were inside at the time.

No one was injured but a man believed to be in his 50s was taken to hospital suffering from shock.

Police believe the incident was linked to two earlier disputes in the area.

The first happened around midday at a hairdressing salon in Punchbowl, when at least two men got into an argument and began pushing each other.

Almost two-and-a-half hours later at a nearby cafe there was another altercation involving up to a dozen people, during which at least three shots were fired into the air.

Both of the injured men are known to detectives, a police spokeswoman said, but the incidents on Tuesday and Monday night were not linked.

"We don't believe they're linked," she told AAP.

Investigations are continuing.
