GB Paralympians still on Olympic high

Paralympics GB chef de mission Craig Hunter says Britain's Paralympians are determined to be just as successful as the hosts were at the London Olympics.

Britain's Paralympians are drawing on inspiration from the British success story at the Olympics as they prepare to grab their share of the medals.

A British medal haul of 65 from the Olympics including 29 golds, while a host of magical memories captured the imagination of the British public.

Now the Paralympians are ready to take centre stage themselves and add to the feelgood factor that swept the nation.

Paralympics GB chef de mission Craig Hunter revealed that an Olympics highlights show had been shown to the Paralympians to inspire them to deliver their own heroics at the London 2012 Paralympics, which open next Wednesday.

"The mood in the camp is one of excitement and anticipation," said Hunter.

"Obviously we've had a great Olympic Games and that has really inspired our team.

"We showed them a video of highlights from the Olympics and our athletes are keen to win medals of their own.

"They are really looking forward to being able to contribute to that feeling of excitement that the Olympics generated.

"To be part of that, to see yourself in a closing montage of the Games. How great would that be?

"Our Olympians and Paralympians are operating under the 'Our Greatest Team' banner. The Olympians have done their part. Our Paralympians are enormously proud to be representing their country and want to add medals of their own."
