Race leader Rodriguez wins Vuelta sixth stage

JACA-FUERTE DE RAPITAN, Spain (Reuters) - Overall leader Joaquim Rodriguez of Spain won stage six of the Vuelta a Espana on Thursday.

JACA-FUERTE DE RAPITAN, Spain (Reuters) - Overall leader Joaquim Rodriguez of Spain won stage six of the Vuelta a Espana on Thursday.

Britain's Chris Froome finished second around five seconds behind Rodriguez in the stage from Jaca to the summit finish of Fuerte de Rapitan, with Spaniards Alejandro Valverde, third, and Alberto Contador, fourth.

Rodriguez remained overall leader, with Froome second. The Vuelta finishes on Sunday September 9 in Madrid.
