Médecins Sans Frontières has been working on the ground without official authorisation in Syria for the past two months.
At the end of June, a team was able in six days to transform an empty house into an emergency hospital, where wounded people could be operated on and hospitalised.
As of mid-August, Médecins Sans Frontières has admitted more than 300 patients to this facility and carried out 150 surgeries.
SBS's Andy Park interviews Australian anaesthetist nurse Brian Moller, who has been coordinating the hospital.
