South Korea reacts to Samsung verdict
The US verdict ordering Samsung to pay Apple $US1 billion in copyright damages has sent shock waves through South Korea, reports CNN's Paula Hancocks.

A US Jury order for Samsung to pay $US1 billion for 'willfully' copying Apple iPhone designs has made big news in South Korea.
The country's biggest company, Samsung touches most parts of South Korean society with people joking you can actually live a Samsung life; You can be born in a Samsung hospital, live in a Samsung home, watch a Samsung television, and even take out Samsung life insurance.
Apple said the verdict is a 'loud and clear message that stealing isn't right.' But Samsung predicts the decision could mean fewer choices and higher prices for American consumers and says it will appeal the jury's decision.
A smaller court case in Korea last week found both Samsung and Apple had actually infringed on each others' patents. The tech giants are currently fighting around 30 similar court cases around the world.
