St Kilda re-sign four, including Hayes

St Kilda have re-signed four key AFL players: Lenny Hayes, Stephen Milne, Leigh Montagna and Sam Gilbert.
St Kilda veterans Lenny Hayes and Stephen Milne have re-signed with the AFL club for another season.
Hayes and Milne, both 32, extended their contacts until the end of 2013, while the Saints also announced on Wedneday they had agreed new terms with Leigh Montagna and Sam Gilbert.
Montagna is now tied with the Saints for another two seasons, while Gilbert is on their books until the end of 2015.
There was some speculation Hayes would retire at the end of this season, but the on-baller has been in strong form after returning from a second knee reconstruction.
"It's a good place to be around, with all of the young guys coming through," said Hayes.
I'm glad to go through this year with my knee, and can't wait for next year."
"It will be my 15th season next year so I've been around a while, but it goes pretty quick as well so I'm definitely enjoying every moment."
St Kilda's head of football Chris Pelchen praised the leadership of the four re-signings.
"This year has seen the emergence of a number of younger players and these four will play a significant role in the on-going development of the Saints playing group," Pelchen said.
Brendon Goddard, recently nominated by Saints captain Nick Riewoldt as his likely successor, remains uncontracted for 2013.
