O'Hanlon flagbearer at closing ceremony
Sprinter Evan O'Hanlon will carry the Australian flag in the closing ceremony of the London Paralympics.
Sprinter Evan O'Hanlon has been handed the honour of carrying the Australian flag at the closing ceremony of the London Paralympics.
The runner, who has mild cerebral palsy, completed the 100m-200m double in the T38 class for the second straight Games in London.
He won both of his races in world record times.
"I'm a little bit surprised obviously," O'Hanlon said.
"I think there has been amazing performances individually by a lot of athletes in the Australian Paralympic Team and to be given the opportunity to bear the flag at the closing ceremony is an honour.
"My performances are definitely what I was looking for in London. I wanted to win gold and I wanted to do it in world record time. If I hadn't have done it in world record time then I wouldn't really have been happy with it so everything's finished up nice and clean for me."
