Turner prize entries go on display

This year's entries for the best-known award for modern art, the Turner Prize, have gone on display in London.

Work by this year's entrants for the Turner Prize, the best-known and often controversial award for modern art, has gone on display at Tate Britain, in London.

The prestigious prize is awarded to a British artist, under the age of 50, considered to have put on the best exhibition of the last 12 months.

The short-listed works range from a film exploring the life of a Scottish psychiatrist to drawings of a fictional town. Nominations also feature live performance.

The winning artist will be announced at Tate Britain in London on 3 December.
