Ex-Toll boss received $6.4 million in 2012

The former managing director of transport and logistics firm Toll Holdings was paid $6.4 million in the 2012 financial year.

Former Toll Holdings managing director Paul Little walked away with $6.4 million when he left the logistics and transport company last December.

Mr Little retired as managing director of the transport and logistics firm on December 31, 2011, and was replaced by Brian Kruger.

According to Toll's 2012 annual report released on Wednesday, Mr Little's remuneration included $994,000 in salary, plus leave entitlements of $1.92 million and a termination benefit of $1.5 million.

He collected options worth $1.19 million, short-term incentive payments of $565,000, $25,000 in superannuation and non-monetary benefits of $235,000.

He earned $6.03 million in the prior financial year.

The report also showed Mr Kruger received total remuneration of $2.6 million in 2012, including $1.3 million in salary, $368,000 in short-term incentives and $927,000 in options.

In August, Toll booked a 77 per cent fall in full year profit due to writedowns on some assets in Australia and Japan.

Net profit in the year to June 30 was $64.6 million, down from $281.4 million in the prior year.

The bottom-line result was pulled back by $203 million in impairments related to Toll Express Japan (Footwork Express) and Toll's properties in Australia.

Net profit excluding one-off items was $274.2 million, down 5.8 per cent from $291.1 million in the prior year.
