China’s economic policies came under fire from President Barack Obama and Republican Mitt Romney during the US Presidential debate.

The two sides of US politics used the second presidential debate to accuse China of artificially keeping its currency low, not playing fair and stealing American jobs.

China has defended itself, saying US politicians needed to treat their country fairly and that trade has to be a win-win situation.

The country was also a topic of disagreement between the candidates with Romney describing Obama as being soft on China.

In his rebuttal, Obama accused Romney of shipping jobs from America to China.

CNN’s Stan Grant has more.
