While the close-run battle between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney is being played out in the world’s media, Yaara Bou Melhem is on the streets with a group of young campaigners trying to make their voices heard.

The DC Young Republicans travel across the country encouraging people not just to vote for Mitt Romney, but in a country where voting is optional, to make the effort to vote at all.

Away from the loud voices of the politicians, what are the concerns of the real American public?
